How To Use Inexpensive Lighting

Monday, July 12th, 2010

Lighting is the one, single most critical means of affecting the atmosphere of any room. Therefore, it stands to reason that if you improve the lighting and appearance of your house, its value will also increase. Lighting improves any decor. However, you do not have to use expensive lighting, budget or discount light is just as good in most cases.

There are thousands of types of lighting, at least one of which will go well with the type of decor that you have. Lighting is best kept understated. Up lighting, down lighting and back lighting are fantastic ways of lighting up objects in a room. The days of a single pendant lamp hanging from a rose in the centre of the ceiling are long gone but if you do have to have one, at least put a dimmer on it.

Using many lights in place of one powerful light does not have to be more expensive. Typically, the one powerful light was a 100 watt bulb, so you could have four 20 watt wall lights and still save 20% on electricity. Or you could use one 40 watt bulb in a standard floor lamp or table lamp for reading or working and save 60% on your lighting bill.

Discover Why Magnetic Energy Is Much Better Than Solar Energy!

Wednesday, May 12th, 2010

Do you know what a magnetic generator is? It’s a little device (or it can be big if you have room for it) that can make power from magnets. You can actually have a device in your basement that produces power for your home… Isn’t that every house owners dream?

But you should know that energy from magnets isn’t a very popular way to make free power. Almost everyone who makes their own power, uses solar panels. The problem with solar panels is that the effectively doesn’t even come close to magnetic power.

First of all, to even get a real deduction in your power bill, you would need a very large house with a gigantic roof. If you’re like most people, you simply doesn’t have enough roof to install enough solar panels to power your home. Also be aware of the installation price of such panels…

The fact is that you need a whole lot of space and money to even get started with using solar panels.

So, this means that magnetic energy is far superior to solar panels. And please, don’t get me started on wind mills…

Solar Light: A Modern And Affordable Enhancement For Your Home And Gardens.

Tuesday, June 9th, 2009

It was not so long ago that solar lights seemed like a great idea, but in real life they just couldn’t deliver on their promise. With an extremely short battery life and producing only a minimal amount of light, solar lights seemed less than prepared for prime time.

Solar lights today are completely changed from what was available on the market even a year or two ago.

Modern solar lights use vastly improved design and new technologies to provide more light and a longer lasting performance than the previous generation. Since they’ve also come down in price, they are also a better value than before.

Think of it as the difference between the original Star Trek of the 1960s and the Next Generation series of the 1990s. The first series incorporated some technologies which seemed futuristic at the time but had become commonplace by the 90s.

Solar lighting can also be compared to the great strides cell phones have made in the last ten to fifteen years. Cell phones used to be bulky, expensive devices compared to the extremely small Bluetooth-enabled headsets on the market now. Advances in battery and microprocessor technologies have made cell phones so portable and cheap that nearly everyone now carries one.

Solar Lights: The Newest Tech That Saves You Money

Wednesday, June 3rd, 2009

Solar lights are the wave of our illuminating future. While we have used the energy of sunlight for eons, we are only recently able to efficiently harness and manage this power. Solar lights are a step in lighting our journey toward a more Earth-friendly tomorrow.

Not only are solar lights able to be used in many ways, but they are earth friendly too. The sun is a source of energy that is renewable and we can use the energy from it without causing more pollution to occur. Using solar lights allows us to light up our world without having to increase negative effects on the earth.

It’s a good idea to take a look at how solar lights actually work. The light fixtures actually have a little solar power on top of them. They are a lot like the panels you see on roofs for homes, but much smaller. During the time that the sun is out, the panel collects energy from the sun, which is transferred to a battery that can be recharged again and again. When the sun is out, the battery charges up, and then when it gets dark, that energy is taken and used on the LED light, which provides light through the dark hours.

How to Set-up a Green Home

Thursday, May 7th, 2009

Recent news about the impact of global warming has many of us wondering how we can do our part to live “greener” in our homes. One of the ways we’ve learned how to do this, of course, is to simply conserve and recycle when we can, but it’s also very easy to go green in other ways. If you have a green home, you’re helping the environment, and it’s also a way to save money. With just a few changes to your lifestyle, everyone can go green — yes, you too.

One of the major ways your home consumes energy is through heating and cooling costs. If you set your home’s thermostat to 20 degrees Celsius or 68 degrees Fahrenheit in the winter and to 25 degrees Celsius or 78 degrees Fahrenheit in the summer, you’ll both conserve energy and save money, too.

DIY Solar Power, How You Can Save Power At Home

Saturday, September 27th, 2008

Nowadays the economy is down the drain, and energy prizes are unstable. What better time than this to get a big cut back on you electricity bill.. Or even make money selling your surplus energy back to the power company!

Of course there are several methods you could apply to to achieve that goal, but I think the easiest and most beneficial is DIY solar power. The sun doesn’t cost you a cent, and it can even help you to save lots of cash!

Solar power can be used in an almost infinite number of ways, in and around your home or your company. A great thing about solar power systems is that they are very diverse. Let me give you just a few examples of things you could use DIY Solar Power for, instead of the expensive, non-renewable electricity that you are using right now.

- Hot water / warming system for the floor of your home.

- A big energy saver: Washing your car (or your motorcycle) with solar powered warm water.

- Electricity and heating for cottages, second homes or cabins.
